Come hang with me in my outdoor room. My outdoor space features the Harp hanging bed, my own design, a lounge chair and ottoman from legendary designer Richard Schultz’s Topiary collection (I met him and he’s a living doll), and two vintage outdoor chairs from the Howell Company, the first American company to hire a Bauhaus trained designer in the 1930’s.
The Howell 526 high-back spring steel chair circa 1934 is “cantilevered” and features a perforated steel cane-patterned seat and seat back. The Howell sling chair is from the 1940’s and was extremely popular on glamorous Hollywood estates of that era.
